About Mary

I’ve wanted to be an artist for as long as I can remember. My artsy journey started when I was in Kindergarten making crafts (clay ash trays and recipe card holders) and I was hooked! As a shy teenager, I would hide in my sketchbook or PeeChee, doodling away. I laugh at the balloon lettering and flirty eyes I drew on my book covers.

Having creative parents was an excellent way to grow up. I didn't know what I COULDN'T do so I tried all the mediums. Watercolors had always intrigued me so once my first child was born, it became a non-toxic way to express myself while he napped.

Now I work in watercolor, pen&ink and acrylics to share what I call "Intimate Landscapes" or scenes most people would overlook. I find joy in the details!

My watercolors have won many awards in national, regional, and local art shows including The Northwest Watercolor Society’s National Exhibition, The Annual Puget Sound Area Exhibition at the Frye Art Museum and The Maritime Invitational Art Exhibition in Seattle.

I live in a beautiful city on Puget Sound, in the evergreen state. I enjoy spending time with my hubby, family & friends near the waterfront.

My work appeals to men and women alike – the vibrant colors of a boat, underwater scenes full of sea life, reflections of all types and my nature drawings.
